The Business Value of Agile Development
# Sunday, June 03, 2012

Developers like agile development processes for all kinds of reasons. But software development is rarely an end in itself. Most of the time, developers build software because it has some kind of business value.

Given this, it's important to have a clear sense of agile's business benefits. I've written a short paper, aimed at business leaders, that walks through some of the main reasons why agile development makes their life better. The goal is to help the people who pay for custom software understand that agile development isn't just a way to make their dev team happier--it's also good for them.

The paper is sponsored by Microsoft, but it's not about Microsoft technology. (In fact, it's not about technology at all.) If you're interested, you can read it here.
