There's been some discussion lately about the impending demise of J2EE. But what will follow it? As I argue in my latest newsletter, three main paths lie in front of J2EE 1.4, today's dominant Java platform. Five years from now, one of these three will likely dominate in the non-Microsoft world. Which one wins will matter a great deal both to the organizations that use it and to the vendors that sell to those organizations.
