The Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) is a useful technology, and it's certainly important in some areas. Yet most of the interest in BPEL is based on the belief that it will become the standard language for creating portable definitions of business processes. I'm skeptical of this, as the latest issue of my Opinari newsletter explains.
